How about exciting hiking on UAE’s highest peak, dubbed as the region’s best hiking trail? Ras Al Khaimah is home to the towering Jebel Jais mountain peak that bravely rises almost two kilometers above the Arabian Gulf. The hairpin road gloriously meanders through ruddy barren landscapes, deep chasms, and rugged bluffs.
Various designated mountain trails are suited to walkers of all experience levels. Six trails have a cumulative distance of 16km, each with its challenges through the diverse mountain ecosystem. The hiking trails are throughout the upper and lower segments of the mountains.
Wear comfortable athletic clothing. Avoid loose clothing and jewellery. Wear only closed sports/running shoes, without heels or open toes. No sandals allowed. If your experience is planned during the winter months, do bring a jacket as the mountain weather can be quite cold and windy. Make sure you always wear sunblock.
